In this post, we will discuss what options do you have if your old Landi Renzo MED injectors are worn out, misfiring, burning too much fuel or are just broken.
We have developed a method for successfully changing Landi Renzo MED injectors with less expensive ones, such as:
- A.E.B. 2 ohm
- HANA H2001 / H2002 1.9 ohm
- Valtek Type 30 3 ohm(compatible with other generic injectors)
- Barracuda Fast 1.9 ohm
- LPGTech YETI / DRAGON 1.9 ohm
- RAIL IG1, IG2, IG5, IG7
- any other we can create configuration
In order to proceed, you will need the following materials:
- Landi Renzo OMEGAS calibration software and cable, corresponding to your ECU.
- New connectors type AMP (if switching from MED or GIRS12)
- Adapter for Pressure Sensor installation (you can use a hose with clamps too!)
- Soldering Iron and Solder
- A laptop with working battery (at least 30 minutes)
Okay, assuming we have everything ready, lets begin!
You can start by removing your old injectors. Usually the Pressure Sensor will be placed on the injectors housing, using a 10mm undo the bolt and pry it off. Save it for later, as we will need it.
Cut the old connectors, but remember to mark which cables are marked with A,B,C and D. Also take notice of from where you remove them – this is crucial for the normal operation on LPG/CNG.
Solder or crimp the new connectors (AMP) to corresponding cables and mark them as 1-2-3-4 or A-B-C-D as they were before.
Your new injectors most likely will need to be drilled to the appropriate size if you haven’t ordered them already pre-drilled. I will put a chart table, corresponding to KW/Displacemenet-Nozzle size.
You can install your new injectors, corresponding to the correct hose going into the intake manifold. Insert the 14mm hose, then use your adapter or 10/11mm hose to put the pressure sensor on the other side of the gas injectors rail.
Wire everything up corresponding to the cylinders as they were before.
Connect the cable to your Omegas ECU and launch the corresponding software.
Connect to your ECU and click on “Load configuration” or similiar. Load the downloaded file from our website, which corresponds to your freshly installed injectors. After tuning the new configuration, your LPG/CNG system should work as brand new!
